A Culture of Tuning

Fugate Inc prides itself on our tuning methods and strategies.  Our staff has a combined keyboard percussion instrument tuning experience set of nearly 50 years.  Brett Fugate, the CEO and founder of Fugate Inc, began his marimba tuning career with the now extinct company Decatur Instruments in 1994.  In 1998 Fugate became the chief tuner for Musser.  At Musser he spent many years studying all aspects of marimba, vibe, and xylophone fabrication.  Simultaneously, Fugate also spent some time tuning at Century Mallets.  After Fugate’s tenure at Musser he began Fugate Inc as a natural progression of pushing the art and science of tuning.  At Fugate Inc our mission statement is “…To continue to perfect the sculpture of sound.”
